- Jane Austen, her books gives a feeling of being part of the scene she is describing. The most famous are ‘Pride and Prejudice’, Sense and sensibility’ and ‘Emma’.
- Robert Louis Stevenson wrote exciting adventurous stories for children, including ‘Treasure Island’ and ‘Kid napped.’
